my 3 yr old is having nightmares?

hello! so about a week ago my son had his first nightmare...or thats what im assuming. he woke up crying and came in bed with us and once he fell asleep i put him back in his bed. wednesday night he woke up crying again and did the same thing but we left him in our bed. then last night he woke up frantically and he was literally screaming!! as soon as he snuggled up next to me he fell fast asleep. when i asked him this morning what happened he said there was 5 monsters in his room. I know hes afraid of the dark so we have night lights in every room, his bedroom we leave a dim lamp on for him. Idk whatelse to do for him, he doesnt watch any scarey movies, we do leave his tv on at night but its always on the disney channel or a movie he watched before bed is usually on repeat. any tips??

Try to avoid television at bedtime for a while see if that helps. Instead play a soft music for him while he gets himself to sleep. Studies have recently shown that television, computers, and other electronics so close to bedtime can really interupt sleep and one won't feel as rested.

I posted a Re: baby nightmares instead of as a reply as an answer to your question. But I also wanted to say ask him where the monsters are that he sees cause sometimes at night certain things in the room can be shaped scary or have a reflection that may scare him so try to look for that. Maybe if it's in the closet keep it closed.
