I have a 20 week old (5 mo.). Her pediatrician asked if she was sleeping through the night (she is), how many ounces of formula she eats (she eats 6-8oz every 3-4 hours), she has almost doubled her birth weight, and she is a supported sitter, she can hold her own head up. These are usually indicators your baby may be ready for solids.
She started rice cereal 3 weeks ago. After a week of that I started adding pureed fruits, pureed veggies, or fruit/veggie juice to her rice cereal, waiting 4 days before trying each new thing. She had bananas, apples, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, and carrots (She hates carrots). I puree my own fruits and usually buy the pureed veggies as baby food. |
