The last ten pounds...

Hi everyone.  I just had a question about losing the pregnancy weight.  It's been almost 3 years now since our youngest was born.  I'm five two and weigh about 115.  That's not bad I guess, but I still can't fit into my preprego jeans.  It's driving me crazy because I can't seem to lose the last ten pouns no matter what.  Besides that, it seems hard to find the time to exercise accept after they go to bed.  By then I'm too tired.  Taking walks with them during the day helps maintain my weight, but still just can't seem to lose it.  Was just wondering what are some good (quick) workouts besides going to the gym every day?  Any tips or ideas would be great!

Be happy you are at a healthy weight! Remember you aren't in hollywood, you don't have nannies and personal trainers so 3 years is still great! & our bodies are meant to have a little evidence of giving birth! ;) With that said, what are you eating? Can you cut anything out they may be sabatoging you?

& are you toning? & maybe you need to pick up the walk to a jog. Do you have a large enough jogging stroller or can your child ride a bike well yet? My favorite video of all time is the 10 minute toning zone, it tones and helps wih the weightloss. I used to do 2 segments each morning combined with walking and it was miraculous. I say used to cause I am 8 mos preggers, but I plan to do it again this summer! It's the one with the toning bands. It burns, it works, and its really really quick so you can hurry up and do it in the morning! You can find it on amazon for less than $10 I'm sure!

Good luck & Be happy with where you are now!

Candice is right, according to my Body Mass Index Table you are at a healthy weight for your size. You fall right about 21 and anything under 25 is considered healthy. Unfortunately for most people babies will change the whole structure of their body and it could take years before you ever return. Some may not ever. Encouraging huh? A good video would be great especially when you can't leave the house, simple exercises like we use to do in PE would be great too. Here are some other tips if you can use them. Always eat within 1 hour of getting up, never go over 4 hours for any meal. Eat 6 small meals/day and keep it as low-glycemic as you can. Drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces with water or non-cafeinated beverages which in your case would be about 7-8 glasses and keep up some good strength training to help firm up the difficult areas. Zumba tapes are really fun also. Finding a buddy for support is great too. Maybe there's a few things in here you can use but it sounds like you're doing great. If you're like me, about the time you get it all together you get pregnant again! Best of health to you in 2011.
