my daughter did not talk much until she was lalmost 3 and my son is turned 2 in september and only has like a 4 word vocabulary. i would recommend trying sign language. thats what my speech therapist did for my daughter.

Well, my experience is that my son, who just turned 2 in January was delayed in speech due to chronic ear infections.  He ended up with tubes in when he turned one.  So because of the surgery I didn't take his nook away until about 2 months ago.  Once the nook was gone and his ears where open he started talking.  He also didn't really talk until I put him in daycare.  I put him in there for the social skills and playtime he would get.  Now, he's counting and singing the alphabet telling me things I didn't teach him and I love it!  I'm amazed everyday!  Good luck!

My son will be two in March and he is not saying much yet either.  I am not worried though because I have heard that boys somtimes talk later.  We use sign language to communicate with him.  Good luck!

Dont stress until he is 3 and still not talking...I used to be a speech therapist asst. and sometimes when you use signing it takes them longer to  talk because they can already communicate so they dont want to learn something new.... just something to think about...
