Ladies, I have a Christmas party on Friday night to go to with my husband.  It's his friends in from out of state.  I'm a SAHM and I don't really wear eye shadow, however, would like to try a smokey eye for Friday night, any suggestions?  I don't want to look like Elvira but would like to "sexy it up".  I need some easy "how to" instructions.

Youtube it! May sound crazy, but I've gone from clueless to semi-pro. A year ago I had to go to the makeup counter at the mall, this year I did it myself, the past few months I've gotten compliments! Major accomplishment considering I knew absolutely nothing about makeup!

What I've learned- ELF makeup brushes at Target range from $1 to $3 work fabulous. You do not need to shop at the department store, your local Walmart and Target is just as good, the trick is blending!

You can do smokey eye with about any color, so if black/grey may not work on you try blues, or browns... not sure what your color pallete is... look at your closet, that is a good place to start! Since its a holiday party don't forget a little shimmer ;)

Thanks for the tip.  I'll start practicing tomorrow and hopefully by Friday I'll have enough practice so I don't look like a I have 2 black eyes.
