Spiritual Squatters
Nor give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27
A "squatter" is a person who moves in and takes over an unoccupied or abandoned piece of property without permission and without paying for the privilege. In 2004, in his book Shadow Cities: A Billion Squatters, A New Urban World, author Robert Neuwirth estimated that one in every six people in the world is a squatter.
From a biblical perspective, demons that move in and take over the life of a human being can be called spiritual squatters. They move in without permission, or at least with very little resistance, and gradually cause spiritual, emotional, and even physical derangement. To use biblical terms, these people have become fully demonized. A Christian is the opposite: fully Spiritualized--totally indwelt and controlled by the Holy Spirit of God. A Christian cannot be demon possessed, but can be harassed or influenced by demons. That is why the apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesian Christians to give no place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).
Submitting to God and resisting the devil (James 4:7) is the way to keep spiritual squatters off your property. Make sure you have given no place to the devil and his agents.
Angels have a much more important place in the Bible than the devil and his demons. Billy Graham
