BM

My daughter was extremely regular until about 2 weeks ago. She started only having a BM every other day then this past week she went 6 days without going. We have tried introducing 2 ounces of apple juice a day, warm baths 2x a day, and baby messages. I called my doctor but was told several different things. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

when leticia had an issue with bm's our doctor recomended using karo syrup (light and dark are both fine, tici liked the light corn syrup). 2 a day 1 tbs per 2 oz of formula. if after 7 days no change we were to take her in. worked like a charm. if your daughter continues to have bm issues you should probably get looked at, but for now i wouldn't worry.

try 2 oz of prune juice mixed with 2 or 3 oz of water and heat it up a little. it works wonders for my son joshua. he and his twin brother were born so premature that we get to battle this kind of thing all the time. if you need to they also have suppositories and baby enemas now. you just want to be careful to not give her too much because sometimes if you do, she will be able to pass the blockage and then wont be able to stop it from coming out. but you can try the prune juice. another thing that works for my sons is a little bit of apple juice with water. always do half and half when you are introducing them to juice. but let me know if i can help you out anymore. good luck girly.
