Hello! MY name is Jen & I have a 3 year daugter named Rowyn & a 5 month old son named Landon. I grew up in Cadillac but left when I joined the Navy. After having my daughter & getting out of the Navy my hubby & I decided to move back to the area. We have now been here for 3 years. Unfortunately due to the economy here I have been unabl to find a job & therefore have been unable to meet other mothers with young children. We were hoping to be able to get Rowyn into prschool this year but were only able to get on the waiting list due to not hearing about sign up until it was late. I have noticed that if you do not send your kids to daycare or have a job that it is very difficult to find out about anything that has to do with lil kids or infants around here. I have been trying to find play groups for my daughter so she can interact with kids her age instead of always having to play with adults or older kids. I would love to get together with other mothers in the area!

This is so great.  This is my first night on this site and I absolutly love it.  I agree it is absolutly hard to find out about preschools and playgroups if you are not already taking your children somewhere such as daycare where they advertise the sign-ups. I had the same problem with my son Logan when he was young. I did not discover Early On until 6 months before he would be too old to continue the program.  I wish some how I would have known of them sooner. And if not for Early On, Logan would most likely not have been in Head Start now.  But now have Logan in Head Start and I volunteer in his classroom very often and I am also one of the Council Reps for the Cadillac Head Start. I am hoping by creating a playgroup with other parents with young children I can relay messages of what is coming up in the school system and what playgroups and opportunities are becoming available.
