7 weeks old and sleep

My daughter is 7 weeks old and has been giving us a really hard time about sleeping at night all of a sudden.  She use to sleep all the time but now doesn't want to sleep at all.  Lately she will be asleep in our arms and as soon as I lay her down she immediately wakes up.  She wiggles and moans awhile and then starts crying.  I had to sleep with her on the couch just to get a few hours of sleep before work.  She's too young to let cry it out and she always spits out her pacifier.  Anyone have suggestions on how to get her to sleep and stay asleep when I lay her down?  I don't want to establish the holding or rocking sleep habit and become dependent on that either.  We made that mistake with my first daughter ;)

Hi. I am not sure if you have tried white noise to help her. I know it helps my son either a sleep sheep or we use a clock radio that has wind as a setting and we play it for him all night. My sone went through a funky sleep pattern at 8 weeks and my pediatrician said that happens around that age for whatever reason. He is almost 12 weeks now and does pretty good at sleeping 5 hours at a time at night. The last two nights not so much but recently doing pretty good. I

Another thing I read was that it takes atleast 20min for babis t oget into deep sleep so maybe rock her for 20 min before putting down. Cant hurt!

Good luck. Sleep is the hardest part-I am excited to sleep in past 5 one day!
