hello i am new to this support groups online, but my daughter is 15 months old my pride and joy. she had surgery when she was born and something happened to where her brain was oxygen deprived(hypoxic ischemic injury) so at six months old she developed epilepsy well so we thought we just recently found out she has infantile spasms which for those who are unaware of this condition, it is a serious epileptic condition. most forms of seizures do not cause the brain to suffer any serious damage, however infantile spasms or spasm seizures can cause brain damage, developmental problems or delays, even have really bad outcomes she is my only child i live everyday scared something might happen she has had 4 different kinds/types of seizures in 9 months,so every little abnormal movement i am afraid it is seizure activity which is possible, i am in the process of trying this "patience" thing and i am having quite a difficulty with it she may be mentally handicapped in the future which i have come to acceptance with and i pray and hope for the best for my daughter and anybody with any kind of disorder or medical condition my heart goes out to all thank you for taking the time to read my post sincerely,
