when they show signs they are ready. my daughter wasnt trained till almost 4 and my son is 2 and fights it. you can start now but she might not take to it so do not be discouraged. i had both my kids in toddler beds by 1 . just depends if she will stay in it. my son has a tv in his room so we just put a movie on and he falls asleep that way. only wakes up for a drink. if she has her own room you might want to just put a gate in the doorway so she cant get out. all up to u though

My son was 18 months when we did the toddler bed. we where due w #2 and wanted to move him before she was 3m old and they shared a room. we put a baby gate in the doorway to keep him in the room/bed. before that he would do the up down game. my son is 2y he was interested in potty training at about 18m. then he lost interest for a cple months. now that things are settleing down more with both kids he is slowly gettin interest again..

hope that helps.

I tried to potty my now three year old boy when he was 18 months, and he totally lost interest. He decided that it was time when he was 38 months (one week before our second boy was born!!). Don't force it. Let your daughter lead.

We kept our son  in his crib until he was about two. He jumped out once when he was about 18 months old, but then we put the matress on the floor inside the crib and that worked really well for us.

It is ok to keep her in her crib if you want to. It is ok to put her in a toddler bed if you want to. Make sure you do what's right for you and your family.

we ended up having to take my son out of his crib at 11 months because all he would do is scream bloddy murder if you put him in even if fell asleep elsewhere and then laid him down. he would wake up instantly

I have heard that the earlier you start potty training the longer it takes.  My daughter was over 3 by the time she was fully trained.  My son will be 2 in March and I have not even tried to potty train him.

As far as the toddler bed goes, my daughter was nearly 3 before we moved her to one.  We didn't need the crib and I wanted her to stay in bed.  My son will be close to the same age when we move him to a toddler bed (we won't need the crib until then and I want him to stay in bed).

I feel like my children are growing up fast enough as it is, I don't want to push them to grow up even faster.  That is just my opinion and you have to do what is right for you and your family.  Good luck : )
