My son (23 mo old) just started resisting a little. He throws his pillow out of the crib and then laughs..we do this a couple of times and then I walk out. I let him cry a couple of minutes and then I go back in, give him his pillow back, tell him it is time for night night and I hold him for a minute while he babbles. Then I put him back down, he smiles, turns over, and I am out of there! Nothing until 6:30 the next morning! Good luck...Janet

I remember my son did that also. Prior to wanting me to sit. I would read to him then leave and a few minutes later I would here him say "Oh ow" I would go upstairs and he had thrown his little blanket out the crib so l would give it back and tell him to go to bed and then he would. But now for some reason maybe it is an attchment thing he wants me to sit. It can be annoying BUT thank god I dont have to hold or rock him to sleep ...that would stink LOL

We have problems with my daughter who is 18 mos old. She goes to sleep on her own, without a big fuss but doesn't stay that way. She wakes up about an hour after she goes to sleep and lately I've been letting her cry it out as its only for 5 mins tops. But then she wakes again around 1130 and its like all hell breaks loose. She screams and screams until someone goes in and gets her and then...that's it. She goes back to sleep, but wont' allow you to put her back in the crib. I hate CIO but I don't see what other options I've got at this point.

CIO = cry it out. Sorry!
She woke up twice last night, once at 923 and again at 1125, I let her cry and it didn't last more then 5 minutes and she slept till almost 4am. Then my husband got up and got her. I think he did it without even waking fully. I'll have to remind him again when I see him since he left for work at 5. Then I got couch duty with our daughter.
