Miss My Job

I had our baby girl in May and was planning on returning to work at the high school as a dance teacher. I ran the program and taught all the classes and put on concerts. I was recovering from complications during the delivery so I missed out on the basics for the first six weeks. I chose to stay at home with my baby and not do daycare. I am so happy to have the opportunity to do so. Although I do not regret my decision, I miss my coworkers and my students and the daily structured life of a HS teacher. I feel bad for feeling this way.

I can hear how you are feeling but then I came about an opportunity I can do and my kids and hubby are loving me doing!  Have you heard of Discovery Toys?  Here are the promotions for October and they are amazing. Check out the attachments .....www.discoverytoyslink.com/deannastoys.  If you are interested in learning more about how to choose great toys for the children in your life, please consider hosting a show.  I have never seen a mandatory recall with any Discovery Toy products.  We make sure ALL our products are safe, fun and educational BEFORE they reach your family.  My calendar is filling quickly and I would love to reach hundreds of families this fall but I need YOUR help with that.  I am always amazed by how many people have never even heard of Discovery Toys.  Please help me share these amazing products.  By doing so, you will earn FREE stuff( most of my hostesses earn $75-$150 free) OR you can start your own Discovery Toys business and experience the rewards of being your own boss.  Financial freedom, lifestyle choices and awesome personal growth are just a few things you can expect when you join our TEAM.  Ask me for more details and let's see if Discovery Toys is a fit for YOU!

Happy Day!

Kristin, I understand what you're saying.  I was in the corporate world for 13 years before having my DD in December last year.  I had concerns about how I would transition, but I can honestly tell you that being at home & raising her is so much more fulfilling & has so much more of a long-term benefit than being at the office.  I took her over to the office to visit last week & it was a strange feeling.  Part of me was like 'wow, it feels so good to be able to sit & chat w/ my work buddies', but then my baby love would try to talk to someone, or someone would comment on how well-behaved & sweet she is & I would think 'gee, my new job is by far the best'.  Yes, I miss my work buddies, but I know I would miss my baby far more & the pros of being w/ her far outweigh those of the office life.  ( :

Krisitn,  I was also a teacher before my son was born and I am also staying home with him now.   It was a big transition for me also.  I missed the daily fulfillment of the kids ( I taught 3rd grade) and was lonely at home.   After spending all day with the kids at school and then moving to seeing only one little person a day, everything was just too quiet!   The  very best thing for me was to join a playgroup and I wish I had done it sooner.  We plan 2-3 activities each week with our group.  My son has good social contact with kids his age and I once again get to talk to grown-ups!  It has also helped our lives be more structured, which I also missed from school.   Most importantly, don't feel bad about your feelings!   Having a child is a huge adjustment and there is nothing wrong with missing some aspects of your "old" life, especially as it seems you were fulfilled in your job.   Reaching out to other moms with the same feelings might help you feel better!!!
