Speech/Language Delays

Anyone else out there doing speech therapy on their twins?  Does it help?  Am I crazy to have them in speech when they are 2?

Hi Tiffini:  I have boy/girl twins and as far as my daughter was concerned, she was in early intervention for the roll over milestone she didn't hit but aged out early once that was completed and she was walking--around 2-ish was when she ended her therapies and at that time was when it was realized my son had a speech delay.  He is now five and continues to have speech therapy within his pre-school four days a week and on his off-school day he does see an outpatient speech therapist at a Rehab type of facility.  So if it's documented by a professional that your children have a delay (which by 2 would be pretty easy to figure out) then NO you are not crazy and yes, it does help.  I would continue to have your kids re-evaluated as they progress in age as they may grow out of some issues but extra assistance now never hurts and can only help them in the long run.  Good luck!
