Hi!  

My name is Jeni and I've lived in California most of my life -- much of it split between the San Francisco Bay Area (17 years), the Central Valley (9 years), and Santa Barbara (9 years). Before getting married, I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Third World Environments. While in college I met my husband, Kyle, while riding the bus to school!  In 2005, we married and in March 2008 we welcomed our first child, Sierra Liliko'i, into our family. We're anxious to meet Baby #2 on November 24, 2010.

SantaBarbaraMommies developed from my personal need to reconnect with Santa Barbara county as a mother rather than a college student, single woman, or wife.  While living in Hawaii for a brief time, I enjoyed the quality of play dates and the ability to communicate in the web forums during my "down time", the philanthropy of my other mommy friends, and the support of other mothers.  I returned to California in May 2010 and wanted to foster that same experience in Santa Barbara County.  I looks forward to the camaraderie of other mommies, watching our children play together in parks and at the beach, and visiting local attractions that weren't on my radar before I became a mother.

I love walking, cooking, dark comedies, eating out, going to movies, and being a mom!

Hi there!

I'm Bethany, mother of 2 little girls - ages 3.5 and 21 months, and they're the greatest joy in my life, besides my husband.  I work almost full time at a company here in SB.  That's where I met my husband Javier!  We have been married 7.5 wonderful years.  He was born and raised here, while I was born elsewhere and moved here as a child.

We're super busy between preschool activities, work, family life and me taking the occasional class at SBCC.  I'm on the waiting list for the nursing program but it's going to be awhile, so I'm just enjoying life as it is in the meantime.

We walk alot as a family, in our big jogger stroller, we run sometimes, go to the park alot.  I like to bake (my hobby is finding healthy substitutions for regular recipes, that still TASTE good).  I feel like I'm going crazy sometimes trying to balance everything, but fortunately my husband is super supportive and very involved.  He keeps me grounded.

that's funny that you mention "dark comedies" Jeni, I love them too (Dexter, Sopranos ?).  Any comedies are great though.
