I agree with Loan. Short and sweet good byes are the key! When you come back for her, read her cues. If she seems upset and needs a good cuddle by all means cuddle her before you leave daycare. I own my own daycare and the most successful parent/child good byes are definitely short and sweet. Some days your baby may need a bit of extra TLC and thats okay too, just make sure you involve your care provider in the drop-off cuddle time.
My son is 4 months old, I have left him with my mom (his grandma) and we left while he was sleeping last time...sure it upset him for a moment, but I think he understood I was going to come back for him later, because thats just how we have said goodbye (he knows I come back) When he is awake.
Remember to follow your maternal instincts and read your baby's cues. She will let you know what she needs when you reunite after a time away.
Believe me the hardest time is the first, but it does get a little easier to leave your precious baby with a sitter while you and your husband go out. Best of LUCK! |
