not sure about her rash

my 6 week old girl hs had a rash for a week and a half. It started with some acne on her face then it all dried up then it turned bright red and bumpy. the doctor has me bathing her daily with dove soap and slathering her with eucerin cream thoughout the day. after a day her face cleared up but now her whole body is covered in this rash. doctor says to keep bathing and applying the cream, that she will grow out of it  but because of her age it could be a while. How long is a while? It just frustrating seeing her like this and she is soo uncomfortabale

Personally I think there is something wrong with your doctor if he has you bathing your baby every day for a rash. I think you need to find a second opinion. My little guy had a rash on his face and whole head, the first pediatrician to see him said acne, and gave me the same directions. the second pediatrician said heat rash. we bring him into a bath temp shower once a day, just when he's getting all hot and sweaty, and give him a good rinse off without soap. When the rash is really bad, we just petroleum jelly the spots. The rash isn't completely gone, but my baby is TONS more comfy. Best of Luck

I also would get a second opinion and even make an appointment with a dermatologist.  Eucerine tend to dry the skin in the long run. I know this because my dermatologist told me to stop using it.  Instead he recomends aveno cream/lotion and soap and shampoo.

I have a friend that her baby had ezcema and her skin is too delicate for normal soaps.  So she uses aveno for everything and her kid skin is fine.  Dove is a good soap, but usually the pediatricians wants babies to use mild soaps like head to toe johnson.  And in delicate skins no to use soap products until 4 months old.
