not sure if I should be worried

My 21mo old does not play by himself.  We have tons of toys that it looks like a daycare took over in my house.  He plays with none of them.  When i try doing my chores he screams and hangs on to me until I sit with him. I understand there is attachment, but the independance part is what I am worried about. I have run out of options.  it seems his attention span is short.  When I try to play with him its only for a couple minutes and he is done.  Anyone else dealing with this? Is it just a boy thing?

i joined this group just because i read your post. thank goodness i am not the only one out there that is going thru this. my little guy just turned two. he has started playing with his toys by himself but just recently. his attention span is like a fly. and when we are out in public to socialize with other kids at the playground he ends up getting frustrated and hitting them. i did asked his doctor and low and behold hes a normal toddler boy just trying to communicate. she recommended tumbling classes for his high energy, which arnt to expensive thru the parks and recreation centers where i live.  the other thing she recommended is putting all the toys up and only having a few to choose from to prevent over stimulation. hope this helps a little.
