New to the group
Hi, my name is Shari and I am a SAHM. I have 2 little boys, Ethan will be 2 this month and James is 10 months. I just moved to Georgetown, KY and I have to say it's really hard not knowing anyone. I feel alone a lot of the time and I miss having friends to at least talk to. That's the hardest part about not working for me, at least if I had a job when I moved here I would have met people by now. Any advice?

Hi Shari. I have the same problem. We just moved to NY in Sept and I use to work full time before we moved. I have not met anyone except for neighbors. I don't really go out much either though. I was thinking of joining a mommy and me group. You should look into it in your town. Also, libraries have story time. That is all I found out about so far. Good luck. I know it is hard. I miss all my friends too.

Hi Shari -
I just joined a mom's group in my area and I love it. It is a grear way for you and your children to meet new people and learn about your area.

hi shari I know how you feel.. I live in CA and I have finally met people once my son went to pre-school and I did play-groups to but the best way is the mommy and me groups I have done.. call your city see if they have any thru the school district or park and req department.. see if they have open gym time for the toddlers... good luck !! I miss my work friends too but it goes so fast and I am so thankful to have had this opportunity because my son starts kindergarten soon really soon and my daughter is two.. crazy!!!
also since you have a baby I did a baby yoga class thru adult education thru my school district and it was really fun... also this website we are on is great... do a shout out for your city and see if anyone responds to you with a playgroup. have one is your city too!!!it is hard I am sure becuase our boys are still babies and close in age but strollerstides is huge out here in CA and if you put them in a double stroller and go walking in park they have lots of mommies that meet up and walk together.. I did not do it but I had several friends that did and loved it.. you could even start something like that... that would be fun.. good luck and it gets easier everyone told me that and I would laugh.... but it really does!!!
take care,
