Names

Hi, I was wondering...any thoughts on changing the child's name after adoption?  I am in the process of adopting a 2 year old.  I really don't like the name, as it is rather unusual and will constantly have to spell the name every time it is said.  I remember, as a child, that my name was so common that while all my friends had things with their name on it, I could never have them because mine was always sold out.  I was always so upset about that.  I don't want my child to have to go through that too, which is another reason I'd like to change it.  We will never find anything with the current name.  I have had this child for over a year now and have always used a nickname of the given name, which is what I would change it to, but I don't know how the child will feel later in life after learning that the name was changed.  Any thoughts?
