breastfed baby poop

hi guys. i have a 3 week old and i have a question.  everyone says they need to have 3 to 4 poopy diapers.  he does two maybe really big picture perfect poops but the other times his diaper is just really stained yellow, the same color as the poop but not really. does that count as a poop? he is exclusively breast fed. does anybody know anything about that?

I breastfed my daughter until she was 14 months...she had many yellow, seedy type poops! Looks like a honey mustard dressing with sesame seeds...yes the stained ones should count...the big ones should be just little spoonful sizes...dont stress...hes fine!

thanks shelley!  u know this is my second child and i never believed ppl until now but they are both totally different.  my first one would poop all the time after every feeding, and really big ones.  this one does mostly the stained diapers with a couple of poops.  sheez!  they just keep u on your toes.

Hello Lalitha, my name is Chelsey! First of all congrats on the new baby and good for you for breastfeeding!! I brestfed my first until he saw me nursing his baby brother for the first time and then he wanted nothing to do with nursing, he decided that he was a big boy and nursing was apparently for babies. And I am still nursing my 9 month old. Any way, with my first he NEVER pooped; sometimes only once a week.  The pediatrican said that was fine, that there just wasn't any waist once he was done digesting the milk. With my second, he pooped much more frequently.  They are all so different.  Good luck with everything! Take care!
