my pile is overwhelming. i dont have any on my night stand due to my son would never leave them alone. same reason goes as to why i dont have any bookshelves. maybe when hes alittle older. i have a huige long dresser and have books going up the left and right side almost to the ceiling then have a row along the bottom of the dresser. box on top of dresser to be read and a line along the top of the armoire. probably close to a hundred and these are just the visible ones. then i have 2 small totes full tbr along with a box that holds danielle steels complete collection except for a few of the more recent ones. i think i have verythign through honor thy self and i just got one day at a time from a friend. i have a paperback addiction as well as ebay. if i find a good deal its hard to pass up |

jack of hearts by heather allison
Red was her color. Hearts was his suit. Their wedding was in the cards! Flamboyant Laurel Hall was a failure as an actress. But when she returned to Dallas, she found herself with the toughest role of her life - playing high-stakes poker against the man who'd ruined her father. It was all part of her family's scheme for revenge. But even an award-winning performance wouldn't bring victory. Laurel needed lots of couching, and that was where poker expert Jack Hartman came in. However, Laurel quickly realized that she wanted more from Jack than poker tips. And she couldn't help wondering whether being lucky in cards really did mean she'd be unlucky in love. |

a cowboy's honor by Lois Richer
He Didn't Know He Had A Wife... Or A Daughter Dallas Henderson had gone missing six years ago. At last his wife, Gracie, had her answers--an accident...amnesia. Still, she had their child to protect. Would rekindled love be enough to heal her doubts? Did she have enough faith to start over? Dallas knew he belonged with this woman and his precious child. And he knew God had led him safely home. He vowed to put things right. Because a cowboy always keeps his promises. Especially to those he loves. |

Just finished Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. I really liked that. I bought the fourth book in the series today, Lover Revealed. I will be reading that soon.
Today I started Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. I have three other books by her and really liked them all. Synopsis from b&n.com:
Ellen and Andy’s first year of marriage doesn’t just seem perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she’s living is the one she’s meant to live. Love the One You’re With is a powerful story about one woman at the crossroads of true love and real life. |

just finished reading Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. Not my favorite book by her but still good. The main character really frustrated me and she is kind of selfish. If you have read others by this author then you will like it but if you are going to try her for the first time then start with something else. Something Borrowed is a good place to start.
Next I am going to re-read The Burning Bridge by John Flanagan, the second book in the Ranger's Apprentice series. I know I am going to like this one a lot because I did the first time. Three new books in this series have come out and I need a refresher on the first 5. |

a group of elite vampires defending there race. and the king finally ascends the throne and appoints a new leader of the brother hood...
In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood. The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams. |

just finished re-reading The Burning Bridge by John Flanagan. Now I am on to the fourth book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lover Revealed. I am only about 115 pages in but it is really good so far. It is a little different from the other books in the series because this is the first book where the male lead is a human instead of a vampire. He has his issues like the others but they seem a little toned down compared to the other men. Not so intense. It is a nice change. You don't want the exact same thing every time. |

finished lover revealed a couple of days ago. that's the fourth in the black dagger brotherhood series. I liked that one a lot. now I am reading loving frank by nancy horan.
I have been standing on the side of life, watching it float by. I want to swim in the river. I want to feel the current.
So writes Mamah Borthwick Cheney in her diary as she struggles to justify her clandestine love affair with Frank Lloyd Wright. Four years earlier, in 1903, Mamah and her husband, Edwin, had commissioned the renowned architect to design a new home for them. During the construction of the house, a powerful attraction developed between Mamah and Frank, and in time the lovers, each married with children, embarked on a course that would shock Chicago society and forever change their lives.
In this groundbreaking historical novel, fact and fiction blend together brilliantly. While scholars have largely relegated Mamah to a footnote in the life of America’s greatest architect, author Nancy Horan gives full weight to their dramatic love story and illuminates Mamah’s profound influence on Wright.
Drawing on years of research, Horan weaves little-known facts into a compelling narrative, vividly portraying the conflicts and struggles of a woman forced to choose between the roles of mother, wife, lover, and intellectual. Horan’s Mamah is a woman seeking to find her own place, her own creative calling in the world, and her unforgettable journey, marked by choices that reshape her notions of love and responsibility, leads inexorably to this novel’s stunning conclusion. |
