Hyland's Teething Tablets
These were recommended to me by Kathy, but after talking with my pediatrician this morning, they couldn't tell me anything about them. They said they couldn't recommend them since it's not FDA approved and there hasn't been any serious testing done on them - at least to their knowledge, but they admitted they've never even heard about them, so who knows what's been done.

Has anyone been using these to help with easing teething discomfort? What do you think of them? If they work and no one has had any problems, sweet....I'm hesitate to use Oraljel since it can numb my son's entire mouth and make him more fussy.

I bought some teething tablets at wal mart, and at the moment i cant find them so i dont know what brand they are, but they work wonders. i use them along with infants orajel, and Jackson now sleeps through the night even teething.

I did find these at the Vitamin Shoppe, both online (http://tinyurl.com/2rxpnp) and in their store. I haven't tried them yet as I'm going to wait until Ian has some discomfort.

Hi,
I have an 11 month old that has been teething for quite awhile. I had been using Baby Oragel and Tylenol, but didn't feel completely comfortable with either. I tried the Hyland's tablets from a recommendation of a friend and haven't used Oragel or Tylenol since. They are great! They dissolve instantly and don't numb the mouth. I noticed my daughter's irritability went away within minutes and it helps her relax so she can fall asleep easier. I love the fact that they are homeopathic too. I understand your concerns about it not being FDA approved, but I've been giving them to my daugther for months and have had great results from them. Plus, I know others mothers that have older children that used them when they were babies and their children are perfectly fine. Good luck!

I've been told humpfrey's teething tabletsare good to use, they are in shoprite down the medicine isle (a little white bottle) with like herbal treatmeants....they also have tablets for simple fever, diareha (SP?). Depending on your child's age as early as 3 months u can use them just disolve them in a tiny bit of water or if your child is older they can just disolve on their tounge.

Gently Naturals Teething drops were also recommended to me. It's an alternative to the tablets since they are drops, but I haven't tried them yet. I've used the tablets and they seem to be working. The guy at the Vitamin Shoppe said that Hyland's is a good brand, so far, we're going to stick with them.

they are amazing. I have an almost 14 month old and i have been using them with her for many months. when she starting teething we went out and bought orajel and hylands teething tablets hoping not to have to use the orajel because were sorta hippyish and i really like the ingredients in the hylands, it turns out we didnt even have to open up our bottle of orajel because the tablets work so well.

Isn't anyone worried about the belladonna in hyland's? and giving it to infants?

I've been giving it to Ian for a couple of days now and haven't seen any effects. He still plays, but he doesn't seem as irritable. However, I do not give him any tablets before bed. If I think that he is going to have trouble, he gets Tylenol.

i was slightly concerned about the belladonna in it until i read more into it. its such a miniscule amount, i think its just there to slightly numb the area maybe, or perhaps the soothing effect, taken in small doses it can not hurt even an infant. also, its impossible to overdose on the tablets ive heard. ive even heard of babies eating whole containers of them at once by accident and being absolutely fine other than some sleepiness temporarily so i dont think the belladonna is a significant amount or a problem by any means.
