food question

I'm going to start feeding my baby girl baby food at 6 months.. Right now she is breast fed and eats rice cereal twice a day. How much baby food do i give her and when do i feed it to her, i want to continue to nurse. I'm just not sure hoe the eating and breast feeding goes. Right now i feed her about an ounce of rice cereal and breast feed her after. I only do that mid day and at night the rest of the time i just nurse. I read that every baby has their own pace and eating habits but i wasn't sure if there was a norm.

I'm no pediatrician, but it is my understanding that once you start your baby on solid food (baby food other than cereal), he/she is no longer breast- feeding. I would suggest talking to your pediatrician about it. My kids' pediatrician is like a life-line for me--we're practically on a first-name basis!:-)
