With all the coverage on bullying and suicide and Phoebe Prince I must say I didn't think I's have to hear about until my nine year old was at least in Middle School. I was very wrong. The other dau she cam home and told me this overweight girl in her class gets picked on and called names like, "fat cow" or "big-fat pig" and that my daughter sees her go off and cry about it. I asked her how it made her feel and she was very upset about it and she wasn't even the one being bullied. She did say that she informed the bully that she would not be playing with her anymore. But will my daughter be next now? Jeez, third grade? Kids can be so mean. I feel sorry for her and wonder where is the school staff and why aren't they taking action? Perhaps that girl was bullied at home is what I told my daughter so she could understand how someone could be so mean...
