Weird Labor

I'm pregnant with my 2nd girl, (yeah!!) and i'm due in about two weeks.  But for the last week or more i've been having contractions.  My Dr says i'm only dilated to 2 and 75% effaced.  But what seems odd to me is that I don't remember my first daughter moving around this much while i was in labor.  Same thing with her, i had contractions for about a week before i had her, after 5 hours of pushing just to have a c-section.  My dr. is letting me try a VBAC this time.  I know these are actual contractions cuz they hurt like hell sometimes, but i'm not in active labor.  Anyone else have this problem?  Are the babies supposed to move around this much during labor?  Sometimes it feels like she is even pushing against the contractions.  Any ideas?

Well, my daughter moved around quite a bit even when I was in active labor.  I remember her pushing her feet into my ribs when I was having a contraction like she was trying to push herself out!  Good luck - I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Not sure if this even still pertains.  Just had my second son and I was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced for two weeks.  Did everything I could find to induce labor three times over and when I went back to doctor in the third week I was still only 2 cm dilated and 75-80% effaced. After three weeks my doctor stripped my mebrane the day before my due date and my son was born later that night.  I thought I was having contractions two for the last week but they were just very strong braxton hicks that sent me to the hospital even and had me admitted for 5 hours before going home.  This was all das before my son actually arrived.  The key I learned is to just go with the flow they come when they want no matter what you do (unless you get induced)
