hi, my name is nicole.  i have a 5 y/o daughter and 3 y/o daughter.  My 5 year old has many atipical behaviors, began talking in short sentences at 9 monthes, obsessing about different subjects (weather, planets, memorizing and organizing flashcards) at a young age. and has many other traits that are leading us towards aspergers.  she was misdiagnose twice by a local doc who is supposed to be "amazing" but turned out to be a pill pushing wacko... put her on 2 meds that both had negative effects on her. now we are looking for answers and looking for support!!!

Oh my goodness Nicole. I am sorry you guys have to go through this. Forget the pill pushing doctor. I am very much against pushing pills. My son is however now on a med to help prevent seizures. But his neurologist respected my feelings on waiting. You need time to research, ask 2nd opinions, weigh out the options. The best intrest of the child should come first and a doc that is quick to the prescription pad is a red flag. I am sorry, I have just seen my share of horse shit docs. Get a second opinion, never settle Nicole.  And why would she need meds if she has aspergers? I say the best medicine is routine, patience, a good diet, loving atmosphere and knowledge. What are they misdiagnosing her with? Go with your instincts, always. Good Luck!
