My husband is a professional firefighter in Northeastern PA. He works 3 8hr days, then 3 days off, then 3 16 hr nights, then three days off. It was kind of hard to find childcare to accomodate that schedule so, that's how I ended up being a stay at home mom. Where does your hubby work? |

my hubby is a federal ff for the navy at NAS whidbey Island in Wa, He worls 24 on and 24 off so i know what you mean about child care. Plus it costs to much for me to go to work just to pay for it. I bet being a cops wife is just as hard and worrisome! |

My husband is a part time Fire Fighter at our local hose company in a small town outside of Scranton, PA. He would do it professionally in NYC if he was able to. I wouldn't want him to if it meant being away from the family so much. |

Hey Stacy, my hubby works in a small town dept outside of wilkes-barre, pa. He works for Plains Twp. What a small world! He worked part time for over 10 yrs w/ the dept before they would finally hire him, there's a lot of politics with the job. We found out he was hired a day before I found out I was pregnant w/ my first! |

wow, it's so different being the wife of a ff or cop (my father-in-law was a cop for 30 yrs.) I think it has allowed my husband a lot more time with our son though |

My husband is a Paramedic and a ff in IL. When we first got married I thought that it was very difficult... but now after having our son I have realized that it gives us a lot of time to spend together. |

I want to thank all of you for responding. Do you guys know if there is a group started here for us, or do we need to start or own little group just so we can vent about and share stories about our ff's. |
