teething & night waking

My 22 month olds' inscissors are just coming in. We've never had any major problems with the other teeth so I am wodering if it's "normal"for her to be waking every 1/2 hour or so and cry a bit then go back to sleep? The last week has been a nightmare. I give her Tylenol but it doesn't seem to help. I rub stuff on her gums and it seems to only help a little. She just got over a viral thing just recently so I am worried maybe it's not her teeth at all. She is up on and off all night so she is just miserable the next day. She is just not herself so I am worried. It's a Sunday so I'll call the doctors tomorrow but in the meantime, what do you think? Have you had this experience with teething?

I have heard from other Mom's that the incisors can be the most painful teeth for a baby to cut.  I'm not sure why, but that seems to be the case with most Mom's I've spoken with.  For my daughter her molars were worse than the incisors, but every baby is different. I would definitely call the Dr today and try to get her checked out.  If she's like my daughter the teething causes a runny nose and that could have led to an ear infection.  Good luck!

Oh yes inscisors are the worst, next to the molars.  Try motrin instead of tylenol.  It last just about 8 hours where as tylenol only last 4.  She is more than old enough for motrin.  Just call your ped's nurse and ask her how much motrin you can give, they go off of weight.  And if your ok with it, teething tablets.  Some people are very against them, me personally would rather pull out my own teeth than not have had them when my daughter was teething.  If you go with teething tablets i recommend Hylands teething tablets, you can find them at any walmart or walgreens or CVS.  Just 2-3 tablets under the tounge, they dissolve very quickly and start working in about 10-15 minutes.  Best of luck, it gets better!

Went to the docs. this morning. They think she is teething too. I've heard of night waking but this is out of control. Anyway, I will try the Teething Tablets and will switch to Mortin tonight. She seemed a little more herself this afternoon so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the advice.

I have always used the teething tablets and they work wonders for my baby she is 15th months and has all but her last four molars.
