Parents of Brothers...OH BROTHER!!
Public online group

Hello

I have 3 boys and sometimes I feel as if I am losing my head when I tell people I have 3 boys they tell me I am sorry or you have your hands full. It is so much fun at times but they do have the moments. I love them all and would not change a thing.

Valerie, welcome to the group. I'm glad you've joined.

Wow, three boys!!! Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of FUN!! I guess really, three kids of any gender are a lot of work.

I wonder about the dynamic of having brothers only in the house. Growing up, I had a sister and we weren't very close. When I was a teenager, my mother remarried and had two more children, both boys. They sure were fun and I LOVED spending time with them. I left for college when they were 2 and 3. :( I feel like this is my second turn living with and influincing two little boys. I'm very excited about it!!

I'm hoping my sons will be good friends and that I won't do anything to really "mess them up," which is always my fear! :)

I think they will be just fine as long as you are honest and real with them. I find that when I am honest with my oldest son about different situation that come up in life not only does he understand it better but he realize the effect things have on our lives. I always let them know that they can talk to me no matter what it is and I will not get angrey upset but not angrybecause they where honest and talk to me. I am only dreading the SEX question I thing I a going to let my husband hand that at first. I never had a sister but I grew up with 2 older brothers 14 and 8 years older and I loved it even if I was by myself by the time I was ten. My boys fight all the time but when it count they are there for eachother and they miss eachother when the other is not around. So I know the love eachother and are bestfriends.

EEK!! I hadn't really thought of the SEX question. YIKES!

Thanks for the advice about being honest. We have a policy not to lie to our children. I even fell badly about telling him about the Easter Bunny! :)
