What's New in 2010

The year isn't new any more, but I was wondering what was new for the few members in this group...

...we are expecting our second boy!! My husband now works four 10 hour shifts and three extra job shifts. We don't see much of him later in the week, but it seems to be working for us (financially). I don't particularly like it and I want him to be able to sign up for a new shift. Is this selfish of me?? I feel like I need more face time with him. Anyone have similar issues?

WELL, whats new?  We are planning to start trying for #2 early this summer so I hope that its a girl so I can have my 1 of each and be done...but I think even if its a boy we will be done after the 2nd.

I don't think you are selfish for wanting him to spend more time with you and the family, thats normal to want to spend time with him.  My hubby works 2pm-10pm and for a while he was working 11am-7pm and then in Sept he'll be day shift and get home around 5 so I guess soon his schedule will be perfect but I'm still not sure...I kinda like his 2 weird schedules so I'm not sure I what to do when he's on a normal shift.

I've come to realize is that our men don't really LIKE working the LONG shifts but know that the more they work the more $ they have for the kids and you...it SUCKS but thats how it works :(

Good luck on #2. Out second is due in June, another boy! Initially we both wanted a girl, but I'm excited about having two boys and the dynamic that comes with it.

I don't know what I would do if my husband worked a "normal" shift. :) I think part of the reason we work so well is that we're not with eachother ALL THE TIME. Some more time would be nice, but he's doing what he need to be doing so I can stay home and focus on our son-- which is what we both really want.
