| I've slept with my son since he was born. He is now 2 and does not want to sleep in his own bed. I love it, but my husband is not too fond and the pediatrician dissaproves. I slept with my daughter until she was 4/5 months and she likes to sleep on her own, because she does not want to be disturbed. I like to give him the security that he does not have to be afraid. In nature the mom doesn't swat the baby out so the daddy can sleep there, the baby is meant to be with the mom. I crawl up my kids butts and I would not change a thing! |

| If DH isn't happy w/ DS being in bed, could you maybe get a toddler bed and put it in your room for him?? I still co-sleep w/ DD and she's almost 2, but she got to the point where she wanted to be in her own bed to start at night (even though I still lay with her while she falls asleep) and then when she wakes up, she'll come into my bed and cuddle w/ me. If your ped disapproves, I'd find another one that will support your choices in parenting. I have actually found a ped that's not against Co-sleeping, she did it w/ her own kids. They're hard to come across, but they're out there ;) HTH |

| My hubby is not fond of cosleeping, but we've worked it out (for now) :) The pediatricians are very likely to "not like" cosleeping, but I second finding a ped that aproves of your choises as a parent. Have you tried the "in the same room, not in the same bed" thing? He may be able to get the same security from that as being in your bed. That is how most of my AP friends got their coleepin babies into their own room/bed. No matter what, you are doing what you feel is right as a mom, so dont let anyone tell you different. On the other hand, keep in mind that in nature, the mama bird eventually kicks the baby birds out of the nest so they can fly.... that being said, you will know when that time comes for you and your son. Its totally a personal choise :) |
