I'm a first time mom to a handsome four month old son. I am also attending my last year of college and working. Any advice on how to sneak some moments to relax during my hectic schedule. |

I know that I still personally struggle with this because I have a hard time putting myself first and my daughter is 7 months old. Whenever my daughter is napping, I try to sit down at least during one of those naps and have some quiet time to myself. I turn the tv off and read (one of my favorite hobbies). It allows me to escape for about an hour or so and I feel refreshed. Also, you can also make your commute just a little bit longer when coming home from work or school. Take an extra turn here or there and just drive for a little bit. I often pack my little one up to go for a drive when I need to get out (I'm a WAHM) and since she usually falls asleep in the car, I feel like I'm by myself. Then, when I really know that I need some time to myself, I tell my husband that he has to watch my daughter while I go get the groceries by myself. We both benefit because since he works outside of the home, he gets to spend some quality time with his daughter and I get some time by myself and usually swing by and grab some coffee or some other special treat. Hope this helps! |

my son is 2 and the most alone time you'll have is before they start moving(I'm a SAHM too). I would say until your little one turns 1 just rest or nap when he/she is napping. And like Tiffany was saying, just taking a drive is a good way to chill out the little one and kinda chill out yourself. I would even take put my son in his bouncer and bring him in the bathroom with me and I would take a hot bath while he was just chillin playin with his toys on the bouncer. OR I would put him in his swing while I took a bath or shower |

My mother used to always tell me to try to make a schedule and stick with it, my son is 15months old, the first 6months of his life I was a sahm, and it was hard in the beginning, I just napped when he did, and what ever I didn't fell like doing, I didn't.. Well as far as the house.. I wouldn't think about it, so I wouldn't feel overwhelmed, my mom also told me, its ok to have a little junk.. You have a baby.. Just slowly work on a schedule.. And when ever you can get a break with him going with granny or auntie. For a few hrs.. Let him, those power naps helped me a lot, I hope I was some help, and congrads.. :) |
