Nothing like it!

Hi!

I was happy to see this group because I feel like I am all alone sometimes! After having my son in May 09 I did NOT want to go back to the office and be away from my son for 10 hours a day like I saw all the other working mommies doing, but I needed a paycheck. Luckily my boss agreed to allowing me to work from home 3 of the 5 days that I work and so far the balance has been great. There is nothing like waking up on a work day and knowing that while I have to work I can also take play breaks, walks with my son & be there to feed him lunch and watch him grow. While it does get a little lonely not having the social interaction that I was used to before, I wouldnt trade it for the world! I would love to meet some other mommies that can relate.

I agree I work from home - I manage an office and a medical building, and after the birth of my child I refused to work 60 hours a week - so I do go to the office half a day every day and work from home the rest of the day - and while I am happy that I do not have to leave my little boy all day - I am still bothered by phone calls all day long and well before and after regular business hours and weekends. While my boss thinks he has done this great favor to allow me to work from home - he seems to think it allows him to access me for information anytime. A bit of a downside - that is okay - I am also working on other businesses from home to help eventually replace my income - I am a ahrd worker and I prefer to work for myself - I have started working on two different ventures and have listed my information below...

you sound like you've just described me! Yes it is funny how you can do your job at home but your boss things you somehow owe them. Hello! we are able to work from home cause we are THAT good and you dont want to loose us! I am also pursuing my own business from home, lets home that we can both someday (soon) have our own business, set our own hours and only be bothered by after hour calls because we are going to benifit from it! Today I drove to my job and worked from 9-7, drove an hour home and am working again on my own thing while the baby sleeps. Its amazing what we can do when we have a good reason to do it!
