going to work transition with a 3 yr old

I went to work outside of the home in November. my 3 yr old had a hard time transitioning to this. we hired a family friend to watch them and she finially got settled in about january. that is when the sitter give her 2 weeks notice.

we now have a new sitter, whom I love , but we are back to the beginning with the transition problems. She is clinging, cranky, wants me to be with her all the time. ONLY wants me. and only I can do anything for her.

Is this another transition she will get through? is this a 3 yr old thing? how long will it take? and what can I do to help her though it?

Thanks!

I think it might be a 3 year old thing. My daughter will be 3 next month.  We have had the same childcare situation for a couple of years now, but lately she is in a total Mommy phase.  I constantly hear "Mommy I need you".  When my husband tries to help her she says "no, I need Mommy".

I have major working mom guilt, so I usually give in to her when she is clingy.  I may be creating a monster, but I am not sure what else to do.
