Hello!

Hello everyone,

I am a happily married, 31 yr old mom, of 3 girls (Aleah 11/24/05, Kiryn 08/02/07 and Nili 10/23/08) from Las Vegas, NV.  We eat and live as healthy and green/organic as we can.  I run a couple of health food and natural product co-ops and cook most of our food from scratch.  I love to share recipes and find new ones to try.  I look forward to sharing my knowledge as well and learning as much as I can from you all.

Happy Cooking,

Keslie

Hello, I'm a mother of three I live in Texas and  I'm in need of some good nutrition advice.. I have a 9 yr old son that weights about 112 lbs. he is about 4'10. When we was born we weighed 9lbs 7 1/4 oz.. so hes always been a big kid, we don't eat chips and cookies or drink sodas..he drinks more water than I do..lol but I'd like to get his weight down.. I give them fruit and try to make them eat their veggies but he keeps gaining weight.. If you have any ideas of what I could do to help him I'd really appreciate it.

Your son is going through growth spirts right now so you will start seeing some changes a mother of two boys.  Keep him drinking lots of water and eating veggies and fruits but also remember exercise is important.  I have my boys on Vitamin Meals Shakes and they love them instead of eating something bad they are putting something in there bodies that is good for them.  They come in vanilla and I add fruits and make them into a shake that gives them the fruits they need.  Choc is a favorite and I have to stop my kids from wanting more of the shakes.  I noticed since I have my kids on these there complexion and behaviors and alertness has improved tremendously.  Remember we don't want our kids on diets here say we want them to enjoy foods.  Have him help make dinners this will get him aquainted and more familar with what he is eating.  I also have developed a kids cooking kit that is for all ages this lets them have fun with food but also helps them to learn more about what we eat and math of measurements and more.  Please let me know if I can help you with any of this I would love to provide you with informaiton.  Keep up beat you will do fine.

Thank you Kathy, and yes any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.. He's really tall for his age which I think helps him but he has a mid-section problem. When we buy pants for him we have to buy men size pants and heam the legs.. so any advice you can give me to help him lose weight would be great.. Thank you again..
