Support Group for Working Moms
Public online group

Hello!

Glad I found this group.  I'm 37 years old, work full time NIGHTS, and have two young kids, a 7 year old and a 2 year old.  It's all terribly overwhelming.  I have a hard time finding much time for myself at all, and I have no friends that I really get together with to let off steam.  So, just a little vent there to start off, heheheh. =)   Hope to meet others here...  --Cathy

I feel your pain! I have a fairly demanding job and I have struggled to have a happy work/life balance. I work from home, which gives me a lot more freedom, but also allows my boss to think she can call me whenever she needs something. She always seems to need something right as I am trying to put my son to bed!

Finding time for myself is just ridiculous :) But I do one thing every day to take a breather. Might sound stupid but I watch General Hospital. I take an amazing amount of grief for that from family and friends. But it is one hour every night where my brain doesn't have to think and i don't answer the phone. Like I said - it is stupid - but it helps me relax and unwind :)

sara, what ever helps you relax is invaluable. don't let them give you grief. my escapism is cheesy USA TV shows. everyone has something. a bath or a workout or a run. you do what helps YOU through the day.
