talking?
Hi everyone...my daughter is 18 months and she is only saying mama, dada, pop-pop, poop and uh oh. Should she be saying more? Any thoughts?

My daughter is 13 months and just today said mama for the first time. So now she is up to Mama, Dada and No. I asked my Dr and she said that 3 words by 16 months was normal, so I am sure that 5 by 18 is perfectly normal.

Every child is different, so try not to worry about what she "should" be doing. As long as you see that she is trying to communicate and interact, she is learning. She will probably explode one day and start talking your ear off. In the mean time, talk to her often and help her communicate in other ways besides verbally.

Hello,my daughter is 16 months and only says mama, dada, Hi and pa pa. The doctor said this is fine, and by18 months they should have 20 words in there vocabulary, not that she will say them all, but I think your dayghter is doing fine. Also my daughter is biligual and is learning spanish also, and it will take her longer because of that. Keep talking to her everyday and I think reading books and taking them to the library helps.

Hi my son is 17 mos and says mama, dada, hi bye bye and a lot more but only my husband and I know what he is saying. I asked the Dr about certain letters that he can not say and she said that was totally normal that they did not perfect some of the letters until they were almost 4years old. So she may be saying a lot more than you think.
