6 month wont eat

I am getting really concerned because my 6 month old boy, who usually won't pass up an opportunity to eat, will not eat but 2 oz. at a time.  I am getting really concerned because this has been going on for almost a week now.  Any help?  He is teething; could that be the problem?  Should I just take him to the doctor?

Have you called your doc to see what they say bout it? How often is he eating the 2oz and is he getting any solids? Teetahing could be a cause he could be hurting you give him anything for the teething?

Teething can definitally do it. My doctor said as long as a couple meals in a row were not missed that it was ok. But if you are seriously worried talk to your doctor.

Is your son eating any solids? if so try frozen baby carrots, crushed ice, teething rings before the feedings (to numb his gums) then he may be more inclinded to eat.

I'm also worried. My 6 months girl still breastfeeds. And she refuses to drink anything from any kind of bottle and she also refuses to eat. I tried different foods and she locks her mounth and spits everything. I even tried some cereal, but she refuses to drink from the bottle.

Any idea? The doctor said I should keep trying all day... but I would like some ideas from experient moms. I did not have this problem with my 2 y.old twins.

Thanks

Well teething could be the reason he's not eating, my son did that and still does that even at 2.  Some days he'll eat great and other days he'll totally skip 2 meals that day.

I'm not sure about the not wanting to eat anything NOT breast.  I do know that if a baby is strictly breast to start with do have some problems with accepting bottles and a spoon.  Its hard to start solids, with a breastfeed child...but keep trying I'm sure if you keep it up it won't take long and she'll get it
