I'm so glad to have found this website ! Anyone on or close to Fountain street ?

Hi, I joined this group in Nov. and there is no activity at all  I think the group may have been abandoned.

Try meetup.com I belong to New Haven county parents playgroup and they get together 3-5 times a week and have a very active msg board - If you join the group mention that I recomended it to you cause they only take new members if you are refered by a current member before they give you access to to the events calendar ext... we have lots of photos of our kids on it so it's to protect the privacy of the group. There are a few other great parent/playgroups also - Little explorers is new and small but they are really nice, again if you join mention i refered you so they let you in right away. I don't belong to this group (not enough time for both groups) but i know the organizers and they are great. http://www.meetup.com/littleexporersplaygroup/

there is also tots of fun that is local - I'm not in this group but alot of the members of new haven county parents playgroup also belong to this group and have heard great things about it. http://www.meetup.com/New-Haven-Tots-of-Fun/

There is a new one  i just joined new haven kid friendly meetup that seems so far like it's going to be about meeting other families out for mostly weekend events as opposed to just being a playgroup - this group lets you right in and dosn't request a feferal or meet and greet first.         http://www.meetup.com/The-Hamden-Kid-Friendly-Meetup-Group/

I know how important it is to find a comunity of mom's and kids to get together with, I hope one of these will work out for you - unfortunatly since i joined this group in Nov. there has been no activity at all!

PS Kidhaven.com is a good place to find things to do in new haven and all the librarys have story time all week long - check the new haven town website there is a link that will lead you to the schedual. also since you live on fountain st. check out nature pals - they have a kids program tues mornings at edgewood park.

Hi. I saw your post and I was wondering Is there any group for working parents? I live in Westville New Haven but have not found a group that meets up later in the evening and weekends. Please let me know. I did put in a request for New Haven Playgroup and was told you have to meet with an organizer before you can attend the activities.

all those groups are a mix of stay @ hm and working moms so there are morning and late afternoon events - Kim from nhcpp will probably skip the meet and greet if you mention you were refered  by a member, I know she did with another mom I refered from this site. Alot of the afternoon meetups work out for the working moms - there are alot of evening mom events like scrapbooking and book club too. and hamden kid friendly group seems to be collecting a wide variety of families and i think they are looking to do weekend things if you want to try them too - they just opened last week so it's hard to tell what direction they will take the group - I don't off hand know what groups are specifically for working moms but if you search working moms on the meetup site it will give you a list of what groups would work.
