We just moved here from the San Francisco area with our 2.8 y/o twins. They miss their friends from California and would like to have playdates. Is there a group that meets in the Cambridge area? We live in Strawberry Hill, but can travel, and would love to become a part of a group that meets with some regularity.

I am not sure about play groups, but you ought to check out Stella Bella Sing Along classes (free), which are held in Inman and Porter Square.  Porter Square Books also hosts a story hour on Wednesday mornings.  These are drop-in activities that can entertain your twins while you get to know some local mamas.  Also, my daughter (2 yrs old) goes to the Cambridge Kids Coop, which is currently recruiting families.  It is a parent-run day care/school that is in Porter Square.  If you are interested in learning more about it, let me know.

Thanks so much for the tips. I will check out these places. 

I am also interested in the Cambridge Kids Coop and would love to know more. We were part of a coop in California since the kids were 6 months old and it was absolutely wonderful.
