My daughter was eating table foods by 1 year, but I think it just varies depending on the child.  I would just keep offering foods with a little more texture - eventually he'll get the hang of it.  It can take them several tries before they will take to a food.  good luck!

I too comtemplate what to feed my 1 year old. She does well with some table foods, but I am concerned about her only having four teeth at this point and not being able to handle. Try Gerber puffs, soft bananas, soft pancakes/waffle bites, etc. They worked for me. Just uncertain about more of the "grown up" foods.

My baby has 8 teeth and she is off bottle now gets 3-4 sippy cups of milk a day and 3 meals and snacks. I have neve had a problem with my baby eating she loves to eat and if anyone is eating around her you have too feed her too or she will scream till you give her some of her food.
