risks after 35
Hi all,
Laura what is scary to you about getting pregnant after 35?

I wanted to add more last night, but Emilie woke up. Are you worried about your health or the health of the baby? I know so many women that have had thier children after 40 and they are all healthy. I think there are risks for any pregnancy no matter what the age of the mother. As far as the tests they do, not all are 100% accurate. I did not get the amniocentisis, I knew I would love my baby no matter what.

I agree with Jackie. What are you scared of? I didnt have any of those tests done either. God will not give you more than you can handle. Dont even think that way. We are planning on having another before I'm 40...now I have 2 years...like I said the medical advances can detect any issues without putting the baby at harm: ie: level 2 ultrasound, we even had 3 dee done because of a heart issue in the family (Angelina is fine). I liked having numerous ultrasounds and not to mention the kid glove treatment!

Big Brother is on tonight so I'm only here for a few more

Hi girls I love big brother too LOL

O dont know whatthe hell my problem is . I just remember hearing that risks go up and it just scares me that my one day baby could be sick I hope that doesnt sound selfish !
My obgyn said after 35 they do go up but they can do tests.
Please know that your advise is really making me so happy. I wanna get prego next summer so I can have a spring baby(nick was a winter baby) . So that would make me 36 and prego. I think with all your help I can really do this . im so glad I made this group.

Hello,
There is really nothing to be scared of as long as you are in good health. Me and my husband decided to have another baby when I was 35 years old and we already had 4 other children between us( one is my step daughter, the others I carried). At that point we had 3 teenagers and one that was 5 yrs old. But we went for it anyways and lo and behold it was "TWINS" . I didn't have any problems with the pregancy and carried them to 38 weeks, which I was told was good with twins. It was consider a high risk pregancy but not because of my age but because it was twins. I continued to work up until my 36th week and had to go on bed rest and had to have a C section two weeks later. But this all due to one of the babies had not turned and was feet down. But other than that it was a normal and easy pregancy for me.
