before having my two babies I had been a career woman however we decided that once our daughter was born I would stay home and raise her and we have since had a second child (born 4 weeks ago). It is a big change going from working all the time (my job had required me to be there 50-60 hours a week) to being home and not going anywhere. I personally love being home and being the primary care giver to my children but i also understand that this is a blessing not everyone is in the position to do this and i also do not fault others who choose to work. For us the routine helps also I joined a mommies group where I am able to communicate with other local mommies going through the same things i am and am also able to get out for playdates to break up the monotony of staying at home... it really depends on what works for you

Totally join a mommies group!!! I went to meetup.com and got involved in some groups. I was use to getting up at 6am going to work at 9am, and not coming home until 6:30pm or later. I liked the routine and being busy and in control of something! Being a SAHM, I am not in control of anything and sometimes it feels like a lot to deal with. My mommy groups have helped tremendously. None of my friends are married, let alone have kids, so that was a difficult transition as well, not having anyone to talk to about what I was going thru and no one to do things with during the day. Now I am the Organizer of a mommy group on meetup.com, The West Denver Moms, and I like the responsibilty and the people are great. My son loves his new friends and I love my new friends too! It has been a lot of fun!!!

I too went from working a full time job to staying at home with my daughter after she was born. It is now going on 2 yrs at home. It is difficult to stay home when you are use to working 40-50 hrs a week, but at the time that was the decision we had made and it worked out great for a while.

It does get to be too much after a while. Although I wish I could still be home to care for my daughter, my husband and I are divorcing and I need an income to care for my daughter, so I have no choice now but to go back to work. I just tell myself in the end that it will be beneficial to both of us. Just get yourself into a routine and I would look into a mommies group/play group.

STAYING AT HOME DOES GET EASIER.  THE FIRST MONTH I WAS ON MATERNITY LEAVE I WONDERED IF I COULD GO BACK EARLY!  BUT AS I GOT USED TO A ROUTINE AND KAYLEE GETS BIGGER I HAVE MORE TO DO! :)  I ALSO FOUND IT GOT A LOT BETTER WHEN I JOINED ONLINE GROUPS SO THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE TO TALK TO THROUGHOUT THE DAY WHEN I GOT A CHANCE.  I ALSO LOOKED FOR MOMMY GROUPS IN THE AREA.  UNFORUNATELY THERE ARENT MANY IN MY TOWN BUT IN THE SURROUNDING SO I HAVENT REALLY CONNECTED THAT WAY. I WENT BACK TO WORK FOR 2 WEEKS AND HATED IT SO I RESIGNED AND AM NOW A FULL TIME STAY AT HOME MOM.  IM A LITTLE NERVOUS STILL NOT TO BE WORKING BUT I THINK I CAN ALWAYS GO BACK TO WORK I CAN'T REWIND KAYLEE! :)
