not ready for team sports

This Fall my husband & I agreed to let our son, Ryan (6 years old & ADD), try flag football.  He had been so excited.  So, we started this adventure...we joined a team.  The dads that coached the team were very laid back & sweet.  No pressure.  The kids were pretty focused on themselves & learning how to play football.  No serious pressure.  Ryan would go and then half way through each game, he would sit in a chair and say he didn't want to play any more.  He would cry & he would hide under a blanket.  His team-mates & coaches would ask if he wanted to play but usually it was a "no".  Very frustrating experience as a parent.  And, a bit embaressing.  Ryan is athletic enough but lacks the confidence to be a go getter.  I don't care if he plays football or any sport in particular but I'd love for him to play some team sports.  But, maybe he's just too young...  HMMM???
