breastfeeding and nausea

Hey everyone, i've been getting very nauseas when i'm up in the middle of the night nursing my son, it seems to be getting worse.  I only have it at night. my mom says maybe its because i'm sooo physically drained and exhausted that i feel that way.  just to be sure i recently took a pregnancy test and it came out negative.  so i'm just curious if any other nursing moms ever felt this way either...

Hi, I think I went through a hormone shift when my children were very small (I'm assuming yours is pretty new if you're still up all hours) that sent me running for a pregnancy test too.  Mine lasted a couple of weeks and was not round the clock, but only at certain times of day.  I don't remember if it was at night or not because that whole period is a bit of a blur, but I do remember always being surprised at it.  If it lasts longer than a couple of weeks, you should check with your doctor.

try taking a snack before or during breastfeeding too. breastfeeding is very demanding to your body and can zap your blood sugar level
