Potty Training my 2.5 year old son

Does anyone have any tips or advice about potty training boys. We've been using underwear and vinyl pants for about a week now and he usually has an average of one or two accidents a day at this point. What do you do at naptime? Sometimes he's dry and sometimes he is so wet, you could wring him out afterwards. I think the problem is that the disposable diapers did their job a little too well and now I have to introduce him to what it feels like to really be wet. He, fortunately, loves to go number 2 on the potty, which I'm absolutely ecstatic about but number one happens a lot more frequently and with boys can be quite messy. Any suggestions or advice is welcomed!

My daughter (about 2.5 yrs old) is the opposite.  Great at peeing on the potty and no urine accidents now, but is horrified or scared at the idea of pooping on the potty.

With the peeing, I just let her wear cotton undies around the house and the first few days she had some accidents.  I expected she would.  We have hardwood floors so it was no big deal.  I just reminded her like every 20 mins or so and gradually they learn to hold it and go longer in between times.

She still wears diapers when she sleeps.  I figure after we get her 100% daytime-trained, we'll work on nighttime.
