Hitting

My 14mth old boy is beginning to hit and pull his older half-brothers hair. I'm not sure on how to stop him from hitting him. I'm a new mom and I'm totally clue-less.

I am having the same problem with my 15 month old.  Only he only does it to his dad, not other kids or me.  Im wondering if it is because he has a crappy attitude and my son is picking up on it..?

Now that I think about it my stepson is totally disrespectful towards me and never listens. So maybe my son is doing the same thing, maybe he thinks he is protecting me.

my son is 16m and my boyfriend and i ruff house with our son all the time and then he started hitting us. Then he started picking up his toys and throwing them at us. Now we are teaching him how to throw a ball and catching it but not to throw his telephone ???? when i had asked his doctor about everything that he was doing she told me that it was perfectly normal for this, but when he picks up a toy and throws it then me need to be told that, that was wrong. So now everytime my son picks up a toy and throws it at my boyfriend or i we take the toy away and we tell him bad boy and we put him in his pack and play for about 15 to 20mins for a time out and so far this has worked very well, he has not rasied a hand to us in a little over 2weeks now. He still throws his toys around but what kid doesnt. my girl friends also told me she would take her sons favorite toy away for an hour or so if he hit her and that had worked for her, he hasnt hit anyone in 3m.
