We spend the holidays running around to see family. We'll start at noon with my husbands moms side of the family (approx. 30 people), maybe come home for a quick nap and then drive 40 minutes to my FIL's side of the family (on a given holiday there will be 100 that come through the frontdoor! not all at once, people come and go all day long). We bring a dish or two to each house. Same thing goes for Christmas unless we're visiting my parents (a 20+ hour drive). This year though, my parents and younger brother will be coming to stay with us- our first Christmas in our first house!
I've already picked up some stuff for the kids. We usually don't do much b/c so many family members buy them gifts that it gets to be too much.
I NEVER go shopping on Black Friday- this year will actually be my first year NOT being done with my shopping by then, believe it or not. I usually shop throughout the year. |
