Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Personally I can't wait until next month because For Your Pleasure will be unveiling their new catalog for the 2007-2008 season with over 600 NEW products!!! I can't believe they are adding so much! So now I am on a mission to get parties for July to help me earn enough $$$ to get me some new goodies for my kit.
I have a question for you all....how many of you do bridal shows or career shows? Have they worked out for you? Do you get many leads from them? How much on average do you pay for a rental space? Do you get what you pay for? In other words, does the cost you put upfront pay off in parties and sales and recruits?

Dear Missy, Hello! My name is Robin, and I actually do some bridal shows. I am a classical musician, and much of my earnings come from playing wedding ceremonies. I have played at bridal shows where a music contractor has paid me to perform. However, as I embark on contracting on my own, I have learned the actual cost of setting up a kiosk. It is pretty expensive! I think it cost one contractor I know $800 to set up for two days. We usually get a few wedding jobs from the exposure, and it ends up paying for itself. My latest "target" has been bridal shops, where I ask the owner if I can put out brochures and business cards. The only expense is the materials, which, by the way are extremely cheap (sometimes free) on www.vistaprint.com. I have made beautiful flyers, and business cards on this site. They have amazing specials where you only have to pay for shipping. I had 25 brochures printed for free, and shipping was like $4.00 I hope this helps. Good luck! Robin |
